Today the water is a lot murkier than yesterday. The beach is long and there are many restaurants on the beach. Some of the restaurants are made out of bamboo. There are many people on the beach. Some are swimming, walking on the beach or laying on chairs on the beach. There is some trash on the beach. It is a very cool view from where I am sitting. You can see some boats go by and people are using sea-doos. There are flags in the water to tell you not to go beyond that point. There aren't any big waves. The chairs that we are sitting in are all bamboo. The sand is coarse sand at this beach. There is a big fishing boat that you can see a person being pulled by another boat that has a parachute.
The streets in Phnom Penh have lots of traffic, people, and restaurants. It smells like fruit and garbage mixed and also very dusty. There is a big river and there is a sidewalk alongside the river that I walk on sometimes. On the riverside it is nice because it is windy and the breeze is nice. There are no restaurants on the riverside but there are lots on the other side of the road. Phnom Penh is a really cool place to travel to and I have enjoyed it.
What I am thankful for this year is the trip and much more. I am thankful that I can skype people even though I am in Thailand. That I will be on the ocean for one month, sailing and snorkeling. That most of the food is cheaper. The fruit is better and the chicken is better. I am also thankful that my teacher is awesome and that my family is with me. I am thankful that there is a river where I’m staying. I am also thankful for my family liking the trip so far. I am thankful for liking the book series I am reading. I’m thankful for almost everything on this trip.
Me and my brother and dad went on a kayaking trip. It was on Monday in November. It started at 9:30 and ended at 11:30. We started at the Cave Lodge and ended at a bridge. At first there were not very many rapids, until we got through the cave. We were on the Nam Lang river in Thailand. There were two drop offs. I think the first one was the best because you went under water more than the second one. After the first one there were many rapids. After a little while we had a splash fight. I won against my dad. We have the kayaking trip on video except for the last drop off. The Gopro ran out of battery. There were some people who got stuck in every rapid part of the river. There was one little cave that we went through. It was cool. Then we got out of the cave. I got out to swim. I had a fun time.
Since we got to the Cave lodge last night it has been pretty fun. We played ping pong and swang from a swing that me and my brothers were using. Then we ate dinner. I had spaghetti. It tasted funny. It had a very little bit of meat in it. Me and my little brother did not like it that much. My dad ate the leftovers of my family's meals so he did not need to buy food. Then we went back to our room. It looks like a little house. It has many beds in it. There was one left over. I got to sleep on top where there were windows. Then my family went to bed. When I woke up could look outside. It was cool and then I read a book called The Maze Runner. After I read for a little I got up and went to go get breakfast. I thought that my mom and dad were there, but they weren't. After a little of walking around trying to find them I did. After that we went to go find breakfast. I had a breakfast that had two eggs, two bacon, and two pieces of bread, but the pieces of bacon were really small. Then we went to the cave. It was cool. I have had a fun time so far.
When me and my family got to the train station on the way to go to Chiang Mai I thought It was going to be a miserable night. My brothers and mom had dinner on the train right when we got there me and my dad did not because we had dinner already. After dinner the people set our beds up. The beds were pretty comfy so I climbed up and listened to my ipod till I fell asleep and that was like ten minutes after I got up there. When I woke up I heard the noise of the train going I was listening to my ipod again. Then my brother said it was time for breakfast. I had eggs, ham and pineapple. Then we went back to our seats then we sat there waiting till we got to Chiang Mai. On the way to Chiang Mai I was listening to my ipod still and looking at a tundra book. We were waiting for at least three more hours I wanted to play video games but it was ok because their was a window I could look out of. It was a pretty fun train ride after all.
On the streets in Bangkok, Thailand there are a lot of smells. Some of them are good smells, and some of them are bad smells. It is really busy and there are lots of cars, scooters and tuk tuks. The noises were mostly engines of vehicles and the sizzling of the street vendor’s cooking. Lots of the street vendors have fried fish. There are many of the same stores on one street. The street I'm on is 11th street. I'm staying in a hotel called ALOFT. It is pretty nice. There is a pool on floor ten and it is very cool to see down on the street. I will be staying in Thailand for five months. It is very humid and hot here. Some people on the streets are begging for some food. In Thailand there are baht instead of dollars. There are some really weird cookies. They smelled horrible and taste horrible but they looked like oreo cookies. When me and my dad got back we went to the weight room and did some workout and it felt hard. After that we went to the first floor and waited for my brothers and Kelly.
On the way to LA, we went on a train. In the train it has an upstairs and downstairs. I sat upstairs. Where I was sitting there is a door and it is very annoying because it won’t close and makes a lot of noise. The train has big windows, and it is hard to not look outside during school work, but I survived. It also has pretty comfy seats. It has some air conditioning up on the ceiling and a light like an airplane. There is wifi on the train but I am using my dad’s wifi hot-spot. There is glass next to my seat and there is just one seat where I am sitting. There are lots of places to stop on the way to LA. There are some trains passing by but they have containers on them. The whole trip to LA will take six hours from here, minimum. It will take a long time. I have been on the train for at least one hour and a half. I have been doing school for that whole time but I have had a fun trip so far. Even though it is a long trip, I will have fun no matter what.

At the ACRE COFFEE shop there are pictures everywhere. Most of them are $5000 but the reproduction is $450. It is busy. The mocha I had was delicious, and it tasted like chocolate with coffee. There are lights on the tables that are nice and there is a black ceiling with a black fan. On one side of the room there is a small door. There are muffins and they look great but my mom will probably not let me have one. In the back there is a sign that says ACRE. The music is blues and there are flies everywhere. They are really ANNOYING! There are glass things on the bigger tables that have sand and rocks in them. Some of the people here are wearing their costumes because today is Halloween. The lights on the ceiling are black. The tables are oak and there a lot of people that have their computer with them. |
